When I visited the health clinic last Monday, I was told I had influenza and would be ill for 7 - 10 days. When I went back on Wednesday because I was convinced I had strep, I was reminded that I had influenza and would be sick for 7 - 10 days. I'm not sure why I felt so stubborn. I'm not a doctor or medical professional. I've had no formal medical training. In all honesty, I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to medical diagnoses. Sure, I can use google and webmd like a pro, but it was ridiculous for me to question such an obvious diagnosis. I guess I just wasn't ready to accept the 7 - 10 day sentence. I lead a very busy life, and I have far too many responsibilities to be out of commission for 7 - 10 days. Well, today marks day 8. I'm not 100% yet, but I am feeling pretty good. I'm still tired and have a nasty, productive cough. However, I'm significantly better than I was a few days ago. Despite my protests, it appears the medical field's insistence that I would be sick for 7 - 10 days was pretty accurate.
