In Honor of my Third Cold in a Month

S - Sinus pressure as strong as a vise
T - Tattered tissues scattered around like fallen leaves
U - Unrelenting drip of watery mucus like a faucet in need of a plumber
F - Fingers jamming rolled tissues in each nostril like patches in a sinking boat
F - Frustration brewing like a parent receiving a 7:20 am snow day call
Y - Yearning for a chance to breathe like a fish out of water

N - Nuzzled in my blanket like a burrito in its wrapper
O - Overjoyed that tomorrow is a snow day like a tween girl at a 1-D concert
S - Sore skin around my nostrils and philtrum like a battered bread loaf awaiting its rise
E - Envious of the well like the last kid in line when the snow cone shop runs out of ice
